MONTRÉAL, QUEBEC, CANADA.-The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts welcomes curators and historians of Canadian art from across the country to speak about their current major projects. Canadian museums have shown a willingness to redefine their own mission to reflect the needs of their audiences, of artists, of communities and different levels of government. What are their most pressing challenges, both for collection development and for the narration that results from the activities of collecting and exhibiting? This symposium is organized by the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts in consultation with the Gail and Stephen A. Jarislowsky Institute for Studies in Canadian Art, Concordia University.
