Northeast Ohio Art Exhibition at Cleveland Museum

CLEVELAND,Ohio.- The Cleveland Museum of Art (CMA) is proud to announce the winners of the Northeast Ohio (NEO) regional art exhibition Dominion Prizes. Nearly 1,300 Northeast Ohio works of art were entered into the juried exhibition and were narrowed down to 80 pieces. Artwork in all media—painting, works on paper (prints and drawings), sculpture, installation, film/video, performance (dance and musical), photography, textiles, web-based and interactive art—were accepted for submission.
Three of the exhibition’s pieces will be added to CMA’s permanent collection. The Museum has purchased Christi Birchfield’s untitled intaglio print collage, Hildur Jonsson’s textile painting, Sand Storm, and Michael Loderstedt’s type C photograph, View of Waccamaw Neck, SC, Site of First European Colonial Attempt in America. In addition, four pieces have been awarded prizes provided by a generous grant from Dominion. Benjamin Kinsley’s video presentation Gesichtmusik, won a $5,000 Best of Show award. Three artists received $2,500 Honorable Mention awards, including Dante Rodriguez’s charcoal on paper piece, Self-Portrait Mandala, James Seward’s Oil painting, My Father in the Living Room of our 10th House.
