artwork: Atlanta, GA - The Atlanta Art Gallery presents "Women Of The World" featuring paintings by Christian Bernard (also known as Narbero). The exhibit runs from March 10, until April 8, 2006, Christian Bernard's art encompasses expression, impression and realism. After years of formal academic training and figurative practice, Bernard has bridged the gap that separated his art from the abstract. By deconstructing lines and colors and working with backgrounds and textures, he paints the subject matter in all its depth, increasingly bringing forth the third dimension. The subject is still there, but it melts richly into the texture. The spiritual essence of the work can then roam between dreams, illusions and reality. As a result of his long experience in graphic arts, Bernard has become obsessed with equilibrium and the distribution of space in his work. He leaves nothing to chance in his use of curves, backgrounds, color and framework. Everything is done with respect to logic and equilibrium. In "Women Of The World", Bernard gives a romantic view of women from India, Mexico, Africa and other countries in an attempt to evoke emotion by the meeting of expression and form.
