    Washington, DC - Curator's Office, a gallery based in Washington, DC, is delighted to announce the acquisition of two Jiha Moon works by the Smithsonian's Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden located in Washington, DC.

    Jiha Moon, a Korean artist based in Washington, DC and Atlanta, GA was born in 1973 in Taegu, Korea.  She earned her MFA from the University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa in 2002 and another MFA from Ewha Women’s University, Seoul Korea.  She was the recipient of the prestigious Trawick Prize, an annual award of $ 10,000 made to a mid-Atlantic artist.

    Recent solo exhibitions include: Symbioland, Curator’s Office, Washington, DC; Scope Miami as featured artist at Curator’s Office in 2005 and the McLean Project for the Arts, Virginia in 2004.  Her work is currently on view in the traveling exhibition, One Way or Another: Contemporary Asian Art Now, organized by The Asia Society Museum and opening at the Blaffer Gallery, The Art Museum of the University of Houston this January.  Her work will be included in the upcoming exhibition, Levity, opening in February at The Drawing Center in New York.  She has exhibited at Curator’s Office, Fusebox, and Irvine Contemporary in Washington, DC, the Atlanta Contemporary Art Center, White Columns, and Moti Hasson Gallery in New York, NY; LMAN Gallery, Los Angeles, CA; Brain Factory, Seoul, Korea, and the Kunstoffice, Berlin.  Moon will have her next solo exhibition at Curator’s Office in September 2007.

    The micro gallery of curator's office presents a rotating program of exhibitions and projects.
