New York.- Axelle Fine Arts are pleased to announce a reception for Fabienne Delacroix on April 30th 2011. Fabienne Delacroix' work portrays the French Belle Epoque, the years of the late 19th and very early 20th century, during an economic, artistic and technological boom that filled society with creativity and optimism. Delacroix uses this time period as a backdrop for her intimate scenes of family life and for sometimes grand presentations of a crowd in motion through architectural and industrial panoramas of this golden era. Fabienne grew up playing, learning and working in the studio of her father Michel Delacroix, the world’s most famous French naïf artist.

The elder Delacroix fills his work with purposeful details, while Fabienne chooses to present a more cleanly articulated, inornate view, where the background ripples atop a body of water are as important as an entire social gathering in the foreground. A spectacular castle in the distance is afforded no more importance than a small child at play. Fabienne presents a visual integration of the life, land and architecture of a time long-gone, yet given new life through her works.

Fabienne Delacroix, the youngest child of the artist Michel Delacroix was born in 1972. She began to paint at the age of ten, working along side her father in his studio. Her talent was evident almost immediately. At twelve years old, her work was exhibited in a gallery in Carmel, California where the work completely sold out. In 2004 she began exhibiting on her own, and while her work can be linked stylistically to her father’s, she is very much an artist in her own right. Unlike Michel, who is best known for his cityscapes, Fabienne more often paints seascapes and pastoral landscapes. She has a mastery of light and color that is similar to that of French Impressionism. She is not afraid to use vibrant colors and each composition is full of detail. Fabienne is currently a full time mother and artist.

Her solo exhibitions in cities across the United States continue to sell out. In 1996 alone, her first three limited editions for Axelle Fine Arts, her exclusive art publisher, were such a success that they virtually sold out. On display in galleries in cities around the country, they attracted so much attention that she was invited to participate in a tour of major U.S. galleries with her father. She thus traveled to cities such as New York and Boston with Michel Delacroix for joint exhibitions of their work.  Internationally acclaimed Fabienne Delacroix is a resident of both Paris and New York and was official artist of North Carolina's largest ever sporting event, the 1999 Special Olympics World Games.
