Franz Paludetto Gallery Previews Alessio Delfino's Tarots

Rome: The Franz Paludetto Gallery is exhibiting a preview of Alessio Delfino's ongoing project - 'Tarots' from April 8 to 26 2011 at their gallery in Rome. 'Tarots' is the new photographic series by Alessio Delfino, dedicated to the twenty-two major arcana cards of the 'Marseilles' tarot deck, in the version commissioned during the first half of the 15th century by the Duke of Milan, Filippo Maria Visconti, that represents the highest expression of the tarot cards over the centuries. In more than a decade of work, this young photographer from Savona has focused his artistic spotlight on the woman. In 'Tarots', the strength of the symbol is interwoven with the seductive power of the body to produce a collection of female deities.
Born in Savona (Italy), on 5th March 1976, Delfino lives in Albisola and works in Savona and Milan. Delfino’s approach to photography began in his youth. As a photographer and advertising creative in Italy for the last 12 years, Delfino also remains in close contact with the world of fashion and design. For Delfino, photography is a way to create images, a privilege once reserved only to painting. Instead of copying the world, images project the artist’s conscience, in a manner that is both timeless and without any specific spatial reference. His works are exhibited in galleries and museums in Italy and abroad. Visit the artists website at ... http://www.alessiodelfino.com
Located 30 kilometres from Turin, in the Canavese valley, the Castello di Rivara was the historical residence of the painters of the Scuola di Rivara. Surrounded by a 45,000 square meter park, its complex is made up of three independent buildings, a medieval castle (dating from around 1300), a neo-baroque villa redesigned in 1871, and its stables built in the same period. In 1985 Franz Paludetto, now Director of Castello di Rivara, transformed the castle into a Center for Contemporary Art. Today the total surface available for exhibitions is 2,530 square meters. Since 1985 Franz Paludetto has organized important national and international one-person and group shows curated by Italian and international Art Critics at the Castello. Following the sucess of the Castello di Rivara, Franz Paludetto opened an intimate gallery on Via degli Ausoni in Rome in 2010. This gallery showcases the best in contemporary Italian art, with an emphasis on art that pushes boundaries. Visit the gallery's website at ... http://www.franzpaludetto.com
