    artwork: Susan Kleiner MacDonald Street LBeacon, NY - Susan Kleiner will be exhibiting drawings and paintings of bridges at the Muddy Cup Cafe from Oct. 7 through Dec. 3, 2006.

    Kleiner is an abstract artist who draws many of her visual impressions from life.  She will be exhibiting a series of works based upon her abstract interpretations of bridges.  These works utilizes sweeping arcs and crosses that are directional and energy-forced.  Kleiner renders steel like forms as if her medium was gravity itself, in a series that Kleiner has developed over the years.  On view will be both her earlier graphite pieces from 2003 and her most recent oil paint interpretations from this year.

    Susan Kleiner lives in Pine Bush, NY. She is originally from Brooklyn, NY, received a BA from CCNY in 1970 and then attended Bezalel, the prestigious art school in Jerusalem, Israel, where she received her BFA 1975.  Kleiner has exhibited internationally, in Israel, Nigeria, and Germany. She is a founding member of the group Artists' Alternative, and has exhibited at Orange County Community College, Middletown, NY, The Lyceum, Sugar Loaf, NY, The Class of 1929 Gallery at Eisenhower Hall, among others.
