Mega Yacht Joins Miami's Art Fair Season

MIAMI, FL - Launching the December Miami art fair season, SeaFair inaugurates ART MB with a Collector’s Champagne reception on Dec. 1. Following a highly-successful inauguration in Greenwich, CT, Port Washington, NY, and Chelsea Piers, NYC, the art world’s most exclusive venue; a purposely built 228’ foot mega yacht will be docked at the Miami Beach Marina from Nov. 30 thru Dec. 9th. ARTMB was carefully timed to both precede and run concurrently with Art Basel and offers a unique and entirely new gathering point amongst the top collectors in the world.

This innovative venue with 26 state of the art gallery exhibition spaces also boasts a fine dining room and casual sky deck "Bistro 360" with a champagne & caviar bar. ARTMB aboard SeaFair is a welcome retreat for collectors to meet with participating dealers, old friends, or new acquaintances.

ARTMB will feature 26 international dealers in “The Modern Spirit” with works spanning centuries from ancient times, modern masters to contemporary art; paintings, drawings, photography, sculpture, 20th century design, pre-Columbian and ancient art which are often part of both serious and more design driven collections. Designed in the new spirit of collecting as collectors are increasingly more cosmopolitan and open minded in their tastes ART MB is innovative encompassing all periods of art with emphasis on post war and contemporary art.

Kenneth Nolan,  “Periplum”, 1985, dart series painting, Arcature, Palm Beach Artists of many disciplines will be represented by the fair’s 26 internationally renown dealers; Peter Anton, Karel Appel, Bearden, Braque, Louise Bourgeois, Calder, Cardenas, Caro, Chamberlain, Joseph Csaky, Ronnie Cutrone, Allan D’Arcangelo, De Kooning, Andre Derain, Roger de la Fresnaye, Larry Forstmann, Gaugin, Giacomatti, Richard Hunt, Indiana, Jasper Johns, Wolf Kahn, Kertesz, Kiefer, Jeff Koons, Fernand Leger, Roy Lichtenstein, Knox Martin, Matisse, Matta, Charles Matton, Modigliani, Monet, Motherwell, Takashi Murakami, Kenneth Nolan, Dennis Oppenheim, Will Pepper, Maurice Prendergast, Picasso, Mel Ramos, Rayo, Rauschenberg, Renoir, Gerhard Richter, Larry Rivers, Hugo Robus, Rodin, Salle, Peter Saxon, Segui, Stella, de Szyszlo, Thiebaud, Bela Voros, Warhol and Wesselmann, just to name a few.

Internationally prestigious dealers include Munich’s Galerie Terminus who will exhibit major post war and contemporary paintings including a 1964 Wesselmann, a 1976 Gerhard Richter and works by Lichtenstein, Basquiat and Baselitz. A one man show by Mel Ramos exhibition will be featured by Galerie Thomas Levy of Hamburg; Rauschenberg paintings by Eckert Gallery of Naples; and Warhol paintings by Rudolf Budja Gallery of Vienna. Interwoven in the fair are prime examples of contemporary art, a one man exhibition by French artist Philippe Perrin, an installation by Yyaoi Kusama and sculpture by Louis Bourgeois by Galerie Piece Unique, Paris. Forum Gallery of New York and Los Angeles will feature the works of French artist, Charles Matton who creates elaborate box constructions which are three-dimensional diorama of interior architectural spaces. Works entitled “Library Homage to James Joyce and “Loft of Edward Hopper and Sculptor’s Studio” will highlight this one man exhibition.

Arcature Fine Art of Palm Beach who specializes in important 19th, 20th and 21st Century European and American paintings, will exhibit works by Monet, Renoir, Matisse, Pissarro, Sisley, Picasso, Leger, Boudin, Rouault, Benson, Hassam, Potthast, Prendergast, De Kooning, Matta, Motherwell and Thiebaud. A special booth has been designed to display an 18’ Kenneth Nolan “Periplum”, 1985 dart series painting and a Matta triptych monumental work.

The New York Times called SeaFair “For collectors, it is a new stop on the art circuit.” The most unique new venue for dealers and collectors to meet in an elegant setting, the $ 40 million exhibition yacht will tour 26 cities in 42 weeks along the Eastern US in 2008. Private events hosted by local major collectors, art media publishers, museum groups will be held during the ten day ART MB fair.

SeaFair will provide shuttle service from the Miami Beach Convention Center and to Wynwood Design District. Government issued photo ID is required for admission.
