    Munich, Germany - Characteristic of Rupprecht Geiger’s art is simple, geometric forms, brilliant colors and intense contrasts. His name has become a kind of synonym for the color red . for him the embodiment of pure light, pure energy and vitality. In celebration of his 100th birthday on January 26, 2008, the Haus der Kunst will dedicate an installation to him.

    In addition to the works "Morgenrot" and "Abendrot" ("Dawn" and "Sunset") from 2000, "Rote Trombe" ("Red Dust Devil") from 1985 will also be on view: a gigantic, tent-like object, in which the visitor can enter in order "to fill up with red." On exhibition 25 January -18 May, 2008.

    Rupprecht Geiger (b. 1908) participated four times at the documenta in Kassel. Installation in parallel with the artist’s major retrospective at the Lenbachhaus.
