David Hohn Finding FairiesPortland, OR - Murdoch Collections announces I’ll be six forever, and ever, an exhibit celebrating the works of children’s book illustrators and graphic artists whose pieces are seldom seen in galleries or venues outside the publishing realm.  Some of the Northwest’s most talented children’s book illustrators will be on hand the evening of December 1, marking a rare opportunity to meet the artists and purchase original artwork that, until this point, was only available in printed book form.  The original illustrations, sketches and drawings range in price from $400-$2,500 and the featured books will be available for sale.

The opening reception will be Friday, December 1st , 5 to 9 pm at 4114 N. Vancouver Avenue in Portland and the show runs through December 30, 2006.  Murdoch Collections is open noon to 5 pm, Wednesday through Saturday.

As an added feature and in honor of November’s National Children’s Book Week, Murdoch Collections will be hosting a series of book readings for children each Saturday in December.  Parents and kids are welcome to ask questions, see the art in person and hear the artists’ stories read aloud.  The Saturday readings will start at 1 pm at Murdoch Collections.  Admission is free and complimentary milk and cookies will be served.
