Gallery at 129 Ossington hosts Mirana Zuger
Wednesday, 20 June 2007 23:14
Toronto, Canada - Mirana Zuger's work employs organic abstraction to expose sensuality. Through the traditional medium of oil paint, forms are created out of a compromise between an understanding of self and an indulgence in spontaneity. Particles fly, while biomorphic shapes meander and interact with one another, penetrating the space that surrounds them. Relationships incurred by the fragmentation of line and these co-dependent shapes release a dialogue, which spark conversations across the canvas.
Zuger is particularly interested in colour play, configuring palettes that would normally not be seen together.
She invests in the creation of openings and layers to create shallow depth as forms emerge curiously to seek out one another. On exhibition from July 4th to July 28th. Born in Ottawa, Mirana Zuger graduated with distinction from Concordia University’s Fine Arts Program in 2005. She has held numerous exhibitions in Montreal and Ottawa, where her work can also be found in private collections. In February 2006, Mirana was a recipient of an Ontario Arts Council grant. She currently shows work with Gallery at 129 Ossington in Toronto and Gallery four seven nine in Ottawa.
