'Metro Pictures' Exhibition(s) at MOCA

Miami, FL - metro pictures brings together artists who explore contemporary urban life using diverse media including painting, photography, video art and installations.  The works offer ‘snapshots” of the city as a space where artists explore the psychologies, conflicts, and resolutions of life today.  Several works address issues shared by large populations exploring political and philosophical perspectives on race, environment and other social concerns.

The two-part exhibition is co-presented by the Museum of Contemporary Art, North Miami and The Moore Space in Miami’s Design District (www.themoorespace.org) and is curated by Silvia Karman Cubiňa.  Metro pictures part two features the work of Susan Lee Chun, Kota Ezawa, Kianga Ford, Quisqueya Henriquez, Marisa Jahn and Steven Shada, Helen Levitt, Lucy Orta, Damian Ortega, Sven Pahlssen, George Sanchez-Calderon, Chemi Rosada Seijo, Henry Taylor, Hank Willis Thomas and Michael Vasquez. Part one is on view at The Moore Space through July 31, 2006.  Part two until September 17, 2006.
