Los Angeles, CA – Thinkspace Gallery is proud to present the new exhibition in our project room featuring works from Canadian artist Matthew Feyld. This exhibit marks the largest grouping of works to ever show on the west coast from Feyld and follows successful outings at the Bridge Art Fair in the UK as well as the Aqua Art Fair in Miami that took place during Art Basel. On exhibition 11 April - 2 May, 2008.
Matthew Feyld bio: Matthew Feyld is a Saskatoon based artist. His drawing process is a combination of imagination and reality. Feyld's work creates an on going narrative, often drawn from real events, and experiences leaving a large amount of room for interpretation. Ink, watercolour, and acrylic are the tools he uses to create a world where both human and animal share more than just their boots.
Feyld has exhibited in Canada, England, Belgium, Germany, Australia, Japan, and all over the U.S. from NYC to Seattle to California and back again. His work was also recently featured in the NY Times Magazine and was included in this year’s Bridge Art Fair in the UK as well as the Aqua Art Fair in Miami during Art Basel. Thinkspace exists as a catalyst for the rapidly expanding movement that is exploding forth from the streets and art schools not only in Los Angeles, but the world over. We are here to help represent this new generation of artists, to provide them that home base and to aid them in building the right awareness and collector base necessary for long-term growth.
Thinkspace was established to help these new talents shine and to provide them a gallery setting in which to prove themselves. It is our hope and dream that through these opportunities these individuals will prosper and continue to grow to amaze us all for years to come. With the love of and for our community, and with the talents of so many incredible artists involved, we believe that this movement will provide the necessary proving ground for the ideas and dreams of today to become the foundations of a new tomorrow. Thinkspace Gallery is located at 4210 Santa Monica Blvd (near Sunset Junction), in the Silver Lake area, Los Angeles, CA 90029.
