1. Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft Hosts NCECA Clay National Exhibition

    Louisville, KY – The Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft is proud to host the 2007 NCECA Clay National Biennial Exhibition, sponsored by YUM! Brands Inc. This show is being held in conjunction with the NCECA 2007, 41st Annual Conference Old Currents/New Blends: A Distillation of Art and Geography, which is being held in Louisville from March 14-17, 2007. The exhibition dates are Wednesday, March 14 – Saturday, June 23, 2007.

    artwork: Ilena FinocchiThis exhibition, with strong sponsorship from manufacturers and individual artists, continues to be the premier competition in the United States for the ceramic arts. Jurors Syd Carpenter, Silvie Granatelli and Nick Kripal have selected 80 pieces for the exhibition from over 1300 images. Merit and purchase awards totaling approximately $5,000 are determined by the jurors.

    Of the 73 artists chosen to participate in the show, five are from Kentucky - Thomas Bartel, Patrick Dougherty, Emily Loehle, Seth Payne and John Utgaard. Other selected artists are: Ian Anderson, Daniel Bare, Scott Bennett, Margaret Boozer, Jason Briggs, Tiffany Carbonneau, Gary Carlos, Li chuan Chang, Bede Clarke, Jim Connell, Kelly Connole, Angi Curreri, Jeff Downing, Judith Duff, David East, Heather Mae Erickson, Daniel Evans, Nazare Feliciano, Ilena Finocchi, Jacob Foran, Neil Forrest, Léopold Foulem, Russel Fouts, Jil Franke, Ovidio Giberga, James Grimsley, Barbara Harnack, Brian Harper, Trey Hill, Barbara Hoffman, Jennifer Holt, Mitsuko Ikeno, Amanda Jaffe, Diane King, Jim Koudelka, Alexander Kutchins, Jae Won Lee, Tyler Lotz, Ashley Lyon, Karen Massaro, Bradley McLemore, Mitchell Messina, Gregg Moore, Gail Nichols, Susan O'Brien, Elaine Parks, David Pier, Kenneth Pincus, Anne Potter, Anita Powell, Jennifer Quarles, Meryl Ruth, Steve Schaeffer, Susan Schultz, Brad Schwieger, Virginia Scotchie, Samuel Scott, Bonnie Seeman, Nan Smith, Paula Smith, Michael Smithhammer, Brendan Tang, Claudia Tarantino, Lydia Thompson, Steven Thurston,  Hong-Ling Wee, John Williams and Blake Williams.
