Washington, DC - We are happy to announce that www.janehaslemgallery.com has been updated. You are invited to peruse at your leisure through new prints, drawings, and paintings by artists who have been with the gallery for years and artists who have returned to the gallery after a hiatus.
Study the new paintings by James McGarrell, read his reviews and biography, and come see his installation at the Jane Haslem Gallery. He is one of America’s master thinkers and painters with large paintings in the permanent collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, NYC, the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Washington DC, and Chicago Art Institute, IL.
McGarrell has long been a jazz enthusiast and an authority on the subject. Paintings in this show pay homage to great jazz musicians. These abstract works sing in iridescent colors. Two of the large paintings and ten of the smaller pieces are installed in the gallery.
