Davenport, Iowa - “David Rathman: Every Day Above Ground is a Good One,” which was organized by the Figge Art Museum, will be on view through Feb. 3, 2008. A philosopher’s look at the West and a photographer’s view of life are the focus of two new exhibitions at the Figge Art museum. A special series of photographs, “The Body and Photography,” will be featured Oct 13, 2007-Feb 03, 2008. This companion exhibition of sepia ink drawings by David Rathman complements the “Go West!” exhibition with a postmodern tribute to the Western genre. Fluctuating between reverential and irreverent, Rathman’s sepia ink images are paired with darkly humorous texts to present brooding vignettes of the American West.
