Brooklyn, NY - Danny Simmons Corridor Gallery, 334 Grand Avenue in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn, presents 3Dc2: Define, Discover and Discuss Contemporary Craft, an exhibition of cutting-edge contemporary craft by artists associated with the Penland School of Craft. Artists included in the show are: XenobiaBailey, William Bernstein, Elizabeth Brim, Rebecca Carter, Catharine Ellis, Arthur Gonzalez, Richard Jolley, Julie Leonard, William C. Rhodes, Tommie Rush, Shaquora, and Hong-Ling Wee.  B.E. Noel, atrustee of the Penland School of Crafts, is the curator. The exhibition remains on view until March 31, 2007.

This extraordinary craft exhibition is an opportunity to excite a new audience of young artists, professionals and collectors about contemporary cutting-edge craft. Included in this exhibition will be exemplary works in clay, glass, iron, wood and textile. This exhibition will illuminate the “ stateof contemporary craft” and will include commentary from exhibiting artists, curators and educators. Curated by B.E. Noel of Noel Art Liaison Inc., New York, a trustee of the Penland School of Crafts, anational center for craft education located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina.The exhibit will enjoy a collaboration with this esteemed center for craft education. Proceeds of sales from this exhibit will be used to create a scholarship to provide travel, accommodation, meals andattendance in a summer class for a promising young craft artist from the Clinton Hill community. 

Please join the curators Danny Simmons and B.E. Noel and exhibiting artist Xenobia Bailey on Saturday March 10 between 4-5pm for a panel discussion about the works on view. This event isfree to the public, limited seating on a first come, first serve basis.  

Corridor Gallery, 334 Grand Avenue (between Greene and Gates Avenues) in Brooklyn is a community-based gallery serving Brooklyn residents and artists, with a primary focus on artists and audience development. Founded and run by artist Danny Simmons, this community resource presentsfive exhibitions each year with frequent public programs. Corridor Gallery serves as the base for theEducation Programs of the Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation. Gallery hours are Saturday noon to  6:00 p.m. and by appointment. Located on the Clinton Hill, Brooklyn, Danny Simmons Corridor Gallery is easily accessible by publictransportation. 

Danny Simmons Corridor Gallery is a project of The Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation which is dedicated to providing disadvantaged urban youth with significant exposure and access to the arts, as well as providing exhibition opportunities to underrepresented artists and artists of color. A 501(C)3organization, Rush Philanthropic fulfills its mission through three core programs: community grants,exhibitions and education programs. The organization was founded in 1995 by brothers Russell, Danny and Joseph "Rev Run" Simmons.
