Solley auction, the total for Christie’s Spring 2007 Photograph sales stands at $16,736,460. Philippe Garner, International Head of Photographs, and Josh Holdeman, International Director, Photographs, say: “With over $11 million realized this week, and with $16.7 million in total sales in New York this year, Christie’s confirms its continued strength in this buoyant field. We are thrilled by the further expansion and depth of international photographs marketplace. We opened the week with a sale dedicated to Horst P. Horst and in the process set a new auction record for the artist and sold 50 lots for a total in excess of $2.5 million. During the course of the three sales, we were thrilled to have reset our own world record for Irving Penn, as well as a number of other masters, including Polidori and Siskind."
