Stanford, CA - This exhibition, on view in two venues on the Stanford campus, highlights Charles Hobson’s creative process, from concept through physical design to finished book.  The Cantor Arts Center presents four of his book works together with works on paper that Hobson created in conjunction with each book.  In Green Library, other books are shown with relevant materials and labels explaining how Hobson conceived and developed each book idea using both hand processes and digital technology.

Artist’s Lecture:  Charles Hobson, “Cultivating Artists’ Books,” Thursday, May 29, at 4:15 pm in the Cantor Arts Center auditorium, open seating.  Free admission.  Hobson said... "I'm an artist who uses pastel, monotype and other printmaking variations to construct images for books and works on paper.  Usually working in series, I often follow a historical theme and employ the monotype as an underpainting for further work with pastel, acrylic and printed texts."
