Brea, CA - Brea’s public art continues to grow with the 144th piece recently added to the City’s Art in Public Places collection. The new sculpture entitled, A Moment in Time, is located at the corners of Lambert Road and Sunflower Street. The new sculpture is by artist Tanya Ragir of Los Angeles. The work was purchased by Shea Homes for their residential development, Walden Estates. A Moment in Time is comprised of two companion pieces that are a unique work as it consists of two separate bronze sculptures capturing children at play. One sculpture depicts two young boys in a friendly game of tug of war and the second sculpture depicts two young girls skipping. The artist explains, “The piece reflects certain moments in time that seem to exemplify those things we hold most precious.”
The artist, Tanya Ragir, lives and works in Los Angeles. Moment in Time is her second public art piece for the City of Brea. Her piece entitled, Avalon’s Legacy for Artisan Walk Homes is located on the southeast corner of Imperial Highway and Placentia. Ms. Ragir has other public art works located in Chicago and Las Vegas. Her works have also been featured in several major motion pictures; most notably Meet the Focker’s with Ben Stiller, Barbra Streisand, Dustin Hoffman and Robert DeNiro.
