The Boise Art Museum presents 'Nocturnes'

BOISE, ID – Boise Art Museum presents Nocturnes, three galleries of lyrical films and related drawings that explore the cutting-edge technological processes which allow handmade artworks (paintings, etchings, drawings, and sculptural elements) to become animated video. Explore other worlds entirely of the artists’ creation in these compelling videos, presented theatre style in the Museum’s galleries. The exhibition features work by four artists: Seattle’s Cat Clifford and Mary Simpson, and New York-based Lucy Raven and Laleh Khorramian. On exhibit August 25 – October 21, 2007.
The title, 'Nocturnes', refers to a musical form that is inspired by, or evocative of, the night. Expressing a variety of moods and artistic techniques, the animations exhibited in Nocturnes share a focus on mysterious landscapes and enigmatic journeys.
Fionn Meade, from the Henry Art Gallery in Seattle, organized and curated the exhibition for Boise Art Museum.
