London - "As Cinzas de Deus" (Ashes of God) will close Barbican's Tropicália a Revolution in Brazilian Culture festival, with a rare screening of Brazil's first, critically acclaimed dance feature film. Film's director, Andre Semenza, and choreographer, Fernanda Lippi. Inspired by Ovid's Metamorphoses, As Cinzas de Deus is a visual poem that merges the languages of dance and cinema, features a cast of award-winning Brazilian dancers and a haunting soundtrack mixed by France's premier producer, Kid Loco.

As Cinzas de Deus is the first feature-length contemporary dance film shot in an abandoned, once grandiose city in Brazil, merging the languages of dance and cinema, and bringing together a team of Brazilians and Europeans. The film’s haunting soundtrack, mixed by French composer and DJ Kid Loco, features music by Réne Aubrey, André Minvielle and Marc Perronne, rare South-American boleros and music by Silver Mt Zion, Kid Loco, and contemporary classical music from Estonia by Erkki-Sven Tüür and Lepo Sumera.
Co-produced by Swiss TV DRS, As Cinzas de Deus was dubbed (Dolby Digital) at Pinewood Studios London.
