'Annie Liebovitz ~ Women' on view at the Brevard Art Museum

MELBOURNE, FL –  World famous for her photography, Annie Leibovitz is a respected artist whose insightful portraits reveal the layered personalities of her subjects. Spectacular large format photographs will stimulate the viewer’s definitions of beauty and gender. Recognizable cultural icons and ordinary women will transfix audiences when the exhibition Annie Leibovitz: Women  graces the galleries of the Brevard Art Museum from January 10 through March 8, 2009.

This traveling exhibition was made possible by The Women’s Museum: An Institute for the Future, Dallas, Texas.

Portraits in the exhibition include the following: Marilyn Leibovitz, Eileen Collins, Jorie Graham, Louise Bourgeois, Hillary Rodham Clinton, Patti Smith, Serena and Venus Williams, Betty Ford, Martina Navratilova, Courtney Love, Sigourney Weaver, Susan Sarandon, Agnes Martin, Lucinda Childs, Jerry Hall and Gabriel Jagger, Martha Stewart, Oprah Winfrey, Haydee and Sahara Scull, Osceola McCarty, Helene Grimaud, Wilma Mankiller and Gloria Steinem, Toni Morrison, Melissa Etheridge, Elizabeth Taylor and Sugar, Drew Barrymore, Christiane Amanpour, Susan Sontag, Katharine Graham, Karen Finely, Lil’ Kim, Maya Lin, and more.
