Andrea Schwartz Gallery shows John Belingheri

John Belingheri - Nectar - Mixed media on canvas - 60

San Francisco, CA - Bay Area artist John Belingheri explores repetition of form through his mixed media and oil paintings.  Each painting features an intently mapped array of ellipses that guide the viewer’s eye around the canvas.  These shapes bump up against each other creating visual vibration.  By simplifying shape to one ovoid form, Belingheri has allowed color and texture to take the main stage.  He sands and paints rigorously to create the texture that he finishes with a wax rub, emphasizing the velvety hues of the oils and exhibiting his mastery of surface.  On view April 30  – June 6, 2008.  Opening Reception: Wednesday, April 30, 2008, 5:30 - 7:30 PM

John Belingheri has exhibited at Fine Silver Gallery, San Antonio, TX; Sandler Hudson Gallery, Atlanta, GA; Crocker Art Museum “Neo Mod” traveling show, Sacramento, CA and Monterey, CA, and has work in both public and private collections nationally and internationally.
