Beaver Street Gallery Hosts a “Transatlantik” Exhibition

Flagstaff, AZ - From August 20 through October 31, 2010, Beaver Street Gallery will host a “Transatlantik” exhibition featuring work by Italian photographer Fulvio de Pellegrin, Italian painter Paolo Dolzan, German photographer/videographer Heidi Lichtenberger, and American sculptor David B. Harton.  This extensive exhibition will occupy both of Beaver Street’s indoor gallery spaces and its outdoor space, as well as using the gallery windows as projection screens for Lichtenberger’s videos.  This is the first American show for the three Europeans, and it will highlight the varying world views of this group of artists from both sides of the Atlantic.

Born in Italy, Fulvio de Pellegrin now lives and works in Germany and exhibits extensively throughout Europe.  His photography observes the subtle irony of social and political life, utilizing animals or disguised humans as actors in their own space and history.

Italian Paolo Dolzan received his university degree in 1998 from the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, and also exhibits throughout Europe.  His work emphasizes the grotesque circus of daily life.

German Heidi Lichtenberger exhibits in Europe and the Far East.  Her photography and video installations are concerned with the difficulty and balance of economic and political relationships, about their fragility and vulnerability.

Born in Iraq, David B. Harton now lives and works in the US and shows throughout the US, Europe, and the Far East.  The pieces he has done for this show are large, playful geometric forms fabricated in steel.

Beaver Street Gallery will hold a special reception for the artists the evening of August 20, before their return to Europe, and will also have the regular First Friday reception on the evening of September 3.
