Eckert & Ross Fine Art Gallery to exhibit John Michael Carter

Indianapolis, IN - Eckert & Ross Fine Art, Inc. is pleased to announce our upcoming show for the artist John Michael Carter. Mr. Carter is an award-winning landscape, still life and portrait painter. He has received important prizes from Artists of America, the Portrait Society of America, the American Society of Portrait Artists, Oil Painters of America, the Hoosier Salon and Indiana Heritage Arts. There will be 25-30 paintings in the show and sale, which runs from October 16 through at least November 21, 2009.

His portrait commissions have included United States Senators, Governors, university presidents as well as prominent corporate and civic leaders. His work may be found in public, private and corporate collections across the U. S.

Mr. Carter’s paintings are more complex than many traditional artists working today. His paintings often feature beautifully rendered figures that are painted in an exciting mix of realism and impressionism. His composition and drawing are always exacting, but tempered with a painterly abstraction.

There will be 25-30 paintings in the show and sale, which runs from October 16 through at least November 21, 2009.
