    New York City.- The 1500 Gallery is proud to present "PIIOTOS_WTC". Exhibited in Recognition of 10th Anniversary of 9/11, the exhibition features photographss of Twin Towers by Brazilian Photographers and will be on view at the gallery from September 7th through September 17th. "PIIOTOS_WTC" is a group show comprising photographs of the Twin Towers by 22 of Brazil’s most recognized photographers who lived, worked or were passing through NYC over the past 3 decades. There was an opening reception at 1500 Gallery.


    The "PIIOTOS_WTC" exhibition at 1500 Gallery will run in parallel with a "PI IOTOS_WTC" exhibition of the same images at Espaço Soma in Sao Paulo, Brazil. "PIIOTOS_WTC" has the institutional support of the Consulate General of Brazil in New York and is intended as a cultural exchange between Sao Paulo and New York City: a tribute by Brazilian artists to the United States of America and to New York City, as well as to the tragic events of 9/11/2001. "PIIOTOS_WTC" was curated by Sao Paulo-based journalist Fernando Costa Netto, with input from Ilana Bessler, 1500 Gallery’s Sao Paulo-based curator. "PIIOTOS_WTC" consists of images by the  following Brazilian photographers: Victor Andrade, Ignacio Aronovich, Rogerio Assis, Claudio Elisabetsky, Mario Fontes, Paulo Fridman, Lufe Gomes, Ali Karakas, Roberto Linsker, German Lorca, Angelo Maciel, Walter Nicolau Junior, Marcelo Pallotta, Cristiano Quintino, Tuca Reines, Gui von Schmidt, Ivan Shupikov, Christian Sievers, Paulo Vainer, Cassio Vasconcellos, Claudio Versiani and Bob Wolfenson. "PIIOTOS_WTC" is sponsored by Canon (Brazil), with additional support from the Consulate General of Brazil in New York and others.

    The 1500 Gallery is located in New York City's West Chelsea gallery district and specializes in Brazilian photography – the first gallery in the world with this explicit focus. 1500 represents several of the most recognized Brazilian art photographers, both emerging and established, with works present in major collections in Brazil and worldwide. 8 of 1500's photographers are present in the Sao Paulo Museum of Art's collection of photography. 1500 was founded in 2010 by Alexandre Bueno de Moraes and Andrew S.
